TechSoup

TechSoup connects nonprofit organizations around the world to the technology, resources, and guidance they need to achieve their missions. These nonprofit organizations are at the frontlines of addressing the world’s most pressing problems, yet many of them are woefully under-resourced in an increasingly digital world. Each year, we connect nonprofit organizations with billions of dollars in value of donated and discounted technology.

Downtown Crenshaw Rising

Downtown Crenshaw Rising (DCR), a membership-led nonprofit community development organization, in the historically Black Crenshaw neighborhood in South Los Angeles. DCR is seeking financial support to purchase an iconic 40+ acre property. Their vision is to convert the property into a showcase for community wealth-building and stabilization in the face of gentrification and displacement from conventional developers.

Community Foods Market

Community Foods Market (CFM) operates a full-service food market located near three historic low-income neighborhoods in West Oakland, CA, that, prior to opening in June 2019, had not had a grocery store since the 1970’s. CFM offers fresh foods, groceries, and prepared foods at affordable prices. CFM has 28 employees, 90% who are BIPOC and 70% who live in the neighborhood. CFM emerged out of 18 years of community building and outreach in West Oakland that began with People’s Grocery in 2002, a nonprofit organization that operated the first mobile market in the U.S.

Friendship House Association of American Indians

Culture is our medicine. Since 1963 we have served more than 5,835 residential American Indian clients recovering from substance abuse. With the majority of Natives living in or near cities, the time is now to define bold and equitable solutions that address our systemic erasure and the profound inequities that are the result of it. As a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the growing disparities experienced by our people in the San Francisco Bay Area, Friendship House is leading a coalition of Native-led nonprofits to build The Village SF: A six-floor building and program expansion initiative that meets the health, wellness, cultural and spiritual needs of the over 9,000 American Indians in San Francisco and beyond.
