Learn. Connect. Invest.
The Opportunity: Alaska faces unprecedented challenges—climate change, housing shortages, food
insecurity, and economic instability—that require innovative solutions and an opportunity to expand beyond
traditional philanthropy and banking.
A Powerful Coalition: The Alaska Impact Cohort unites Alaska’s leading foundations—Alaska Conservation
Foundation, Mat-Su Health Foundation, Alaska Community Foundation, Rasmuson Foundation, and
partners—to leverage collective resources for unprecedented community impact. With mentorship by the
Impact Finance Center in this long-term collaboration, we aim to complement the work of Alaska’s critical
lenders, accelerator programs, and incubators already improving the quality of our economy, region by
region.
Capital That Builds Communities: Alaska’s current investment landscape is limited: capital is often
inaccessible to frontline communities because of structural barriers, lack of intermediaries, terms that favor
outside investors, structures that result in profits leaving the state, and historic underinvestment. The Cohort is working to unlock the untapped potential of private wealth from both within Alaska and from mission- aligned investors nationwide, including the financial assets of foundations, investor groups, and individuals.
We envision an Alaska where investment strengthens rather than extracts from local economies.
