Alaska foundations said yes. Then they made it happen.
After experiencing Impact Days in Colorado, a cohort of Alaska foundations and leaders decided to bring the model home.
AK Impact Days was held in Anchorage, Alaska, on April 8–9, 2026. It proved what is possible when local leaders take ownership of the investment ecosystem in their own place.
Together, we surfaced high-quality Alaska-based opportunities, brought investors, foundations, and community leaders into the same room, and created space for connection, learning, and real investment conversations. Perspectives critical to success in Alaska were in the room- individual investors and donors, financial institutions, tribes and Alaska Native Corporations, government agencies, local and national foundations, business innovators and incubators, and importantly, leaders in Alaska’s critical fields of fisheries and food security, sustainable energy, rural infrastructure, state and local economies, and urban vitality. New partnerships that cross old barriers were formed. The ultimate goal is not just a convening– the next steps are starting to take shape around changing foundations’ investment policies, bridging traditional philanthropy with innovative financial institutions, forming new partnerships to pool investment capital, and igniting donors as investors.
Capital began to move.
What AK Impact Days showed.
Local deal flow exists.
Alaska has strong, investable opportunities across business, community, and nonprofit sectors. They just needed to be surfaced.
Investors are
ready.
When given the right environment, education, and peer cohort, Alaska investors step forward and make real commitments.
Capital moves with trust.
Culturally grounded design, local champions, and a community-first approach are what make the model work in Alaska.
“Just a quick note to congratulate you on CO Impact Days. You have started a movement here and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of social ventures that I saw. You certainly know what the impact investing scene needs and I hope that what you’ve started in Colorado can replicate quickly in other states and beyond!”

“It’s super rare to get world-class portfolio advice from someone who doesn’t have their hand in your pocket. It’s rarer to get a whole new framework for thinking about donations and philanthropic work. Rarest is all is a combination of clear next steps and challenge to take action. Impact Finance Center delivers a trifecta.”

“Throughout our lives, our days are peppered with experiences that shape our minds, hearts, and paths. It is often hard to tell how long we will feel the effects of those events. Sometimes, however, we feel to our core that we had the good fortune to be part of an experience that will definitely affect how we proceed tomorrow if not for the rest of our lives.”

The ecosystem is stronger. The work continues.
AK Impact Days was the beginning, not the end. The focus now is on deepening relationships, increasing the flow of capital, and building momentum toward a more resilient and thriving Alaska investment ecosystem.
